A 43-year-old father attempted to force his future son-in-law to marry his daughter at gunpoint in Austria. The 19-year-old boyfriend attempted to fight back however and the two men were left in hospital with serious injuries.
According to the police report the teenager was summoned to a restaurant in Haid near Linz on Wednesday by his girlfriend’s father. On arrival at the establishment the 19-year-old went to sit opposite the father who then revealed a gun.
The father threatened the future son-in-law claiming that if he did not marry his daughter then he would kill them both. The pair then entered into a violent brawl which left both severally injured.
The young man was taken by ambulance to hospital in Linz and has now been released for home care. The father was left with serious jaw injuries and has remained in hospital. He is now awaiting investigation for illegal possession of a firearm.
