The “ice-lady” who had her baby taken away from her as soon as she gave birth on 10 January has held her baby again. The suspected murderess, who is currently in prison in Josefstadt in Vienna, Austria was visited by baby Rolando and father Roland R. on Monday.
The 32-year-old new mother, Estibaliz C. had gone for 20 days without seeing her child before Monday. The woman, who is accused of killing both her then lover and husband, was arrested in June 2011. She is believed to have decapitated her victims before chopping the bodies up into pieces and cementing them in plastic bags into her cellar walls.
The 47-year-old father of the child made a visit to the prison at around 8am on Monday morning, carrying the baby in a carry-cot. Unlike most prison visits, the family’s was not conducted through a glass partition but a so-called “table visit” was allowed. The woman was able to have direct contact with the child and the visit lasted around an hour.
“Everything went smoothly, there were no abnormalities,” said Peter Prechtl, acting head of the prison in Josefstadt.
Estibaliz C. will receive her second visit this week from her mother. Angela C., who arrived from Barcelona two weeks ago to help take care of the child with Roland R., she was given permission to visit her daughter today (Weds). The baby is expected to be brought to visit his mother every one or two weeks.
